Rada Speaker: Some in the Parliament of Ukraine support Lukashenko

To date, there are no statements on the situation in Belarus on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada, said Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Dmitry Razumkov. He said this in an interview with Ukrainian News, the material was published today, September 7. Someone supports the Belarusian opposition, one of the people's deputies supports Lukashenko's position, Razumkov stated. He emphasized that for him personally as the head of the Verkhovna Rada, it is very important that Belarus be a peaceful country and an independent state. So that on its territory we do not see what we are seeing in the east of our state, because this is a people close to us, who very often helped us and continues to help us today. It is on the basis of Minsk that negotiations of the contact group (to resolve the situation in the Donbass) are taking place and I want everything to be resolved peacefully, the speaker noted. He was also asked to comment on photos of Lukashenko with a machine gun in his hands (which greatly resented the entire Ukrainian patriotic camp ed.), Asking if the leader of the state could afford to go outside with weapons in his hands. I saw these pictures. I don't know what the need was to walk with guns. We see only from the photo, not understanding what really happened at a specific time, Razumkov said. The news agency recalls that on September 3, the Verkhovna Rada Foreign Policy Committee announced that they had approved the draft statement of the Ukrainian parliament regarding the elections in Belarus for consideration. Deputy from the Servant of the People Elizaveta Yasko noted that four different draft statements were submitted to the committee, of which they allegedly chose the most moderate in which the Rada deputies would confirm that they were ready to impose sanctions against Belarusian high-ranking executioners. Apparently, an interview with Razumkov was recorded before this decision was made. The head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arahamia, said at the end of August that the Rada needed to wait a little with some condemnations and some opinions on this topic, to be Switzerland in this regard.
